Happy New Rogaining Year!
2012 TAOK rogaine will be held again in South Estonia, in Võru county, Lindora village. There is plenty of well runnable pine forest with some interesting and demanding landforms. The course setter will be Markus Puusepp, who knows these forests pretty well. Over the last years, it has happened that TAOK rogaine is rotating between North and South Estonia, one year in North, another year in South. In South Estonia, the terrain has been featuring some remarkable rivers. In 2008 it was Gauja, in 2010 Ahja and in 2012 it will be Piusa River.
Concerning the organisational side, we have set the objective to apply the "championship standard", which means each team member having SI-card with non-removable wristband. However, we aim to take one step further and try the new generation of SPORTident Active Cards, where it is enough to get into the close proximity of the SI station, without the need to actually punch at the station. For this we plan to rent the necessary equipment from SPORTident.
In 2013 we plan to return to North Estonia and organise the rogaine in Jäneda.
